OceanSTAR Elite Shares Digital Supply Chain Collaboration Practices at GOCS 2026
With the theme “The Next Wave – Global Offshore Engineering in Transition,” the summit gathered representatives from shipyards, engineering contractors, owners, and supply chain enterprises. Drawing on its project experience, OceanSTAR Elite discussed the collaboration among engineering, procurement, and suppliers, as well as the opportunities for China’s supply chain to participate in international offshore engineering projects.
Offshore projects involve multiple disciplines, numerous suppliers, and cross-regional deliveries, requiring early collaboration among engineering, procurement, and project execution teams with suppliers to coordinate technical requirements, equipment lead times, and construction schedules. During the sharing session, OceanSTAR Elite emphasized that continuous communication and trust-based cooperation help all parties identify issues early, coordinate resources, and jointly respond to changes during project execution.
OceanSTAR Smart was the focus of the sharing session. As an offshore supply chain platform, it connects engineering requirements, supplier resources, procurement plans, and delivery processes, providing collaborative support for project teams and suppliers.
Internally, the platform serves OceanSTAR Elite’s project procurement, linking long-lead equipment requirements with engineering milestones to support engineering, procurement, and project execution teams in advancing their work collaboratively. In terms of supplier collaboration, the platform combines the Group’s engineering experience with overseas project requirements to help suppliers understand project technical specifications and delivery schedules, enabling them to participate in international offshore projects.
OceanSTAR Smart is also integrated with the Group’s OS ELITE standardized hull series and the “Design-One, Build-Many” concept. Through standardized design, accumulation of project experience, and supplier collaboration, OceanSTAR Elite promotes the alignment between engineering design, equipment procurement, and construction execution, establishing a clearer foundation for cooperation for suppliers to participate in subsequent projects.
From hull construction and module fabrication to core equipment supply, China’s supply chain plays a significant role in global offshore projects by leveraging its manufacturing scale, industrial supporting capabilities, and engineering integration capabilities. This summit also provided an opportunity for OceanSTAR Elite to exchange project requirements and collaboration experience with Chinese supply chain enterprises.
